The F-150 is the quintessential full-size pickup and it comes with a hardworking persona that other trucks find tough to match. It's not only been the most popular half-ton pickup in this country for more than 45 years in a row but it's also the best-selling vehicle of any kind on earth. The F-150 succeeds by continually pulling ahead of all its competitors in terms of towing and payload capability. At Blue Ridge North Georgia Ford in Mineral Bluff GA, we love showing off the F-150 and letting it speak for itself. Here's an overview of the new F-150 and why it continues to be America's most popular truck.

What's new for 2023?

The Ford F-150 has added a new off-road oriented Rattler trim that makes it a more affordable option for buyers who want extra off-road capability but aren't ready for the higher cost of the Tremor or Raptor model.

Trim levels in the 2023 Ford F-150

One reason for the F-150’s incredible popularity is that it offers buyers from Blue Ridge and Dawsonville, GA a total of nine different trims to choose from:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Rattler
  • Tremor
  • Lariat
  • King Ranch
  • Platinum
  • Raptor
  • Limited

The XL trim gives buyers from Blairsville and Ellijay, GA a choice of bed lengths that range from 5.5 feet to 8.0 feet. You can go with the standard 3.3-liter V6 or upgrade to any of three other V6 engines or a 5.0-liter V8. The XLT trim builds off the XL model with 17-inch alloy wheels and manual driver lumbar support. The F-150 Rattler trim adds hill-descent control, a locking rear differential and special off-road suspension.

The Tremor model is an off-road-focused pickup that comes exclusively with a SuperCrew Cab and standard four-wheel drive. You'll have your choice of a standard 5.0-liter V8 or a 3.5-liter V6. With the Lariat trim, you'll get a SuperCrew Cab with a 5.5-foot bed or a 6.5-foot bed. You can stay with the standard 2.7-liter V6 or upgrade to a hybrid V6, a 3.5-liter V6 or 5.0-liter V8. Leather upholstery comes standard and so does a premium stereo system.

The King Ranch kicks off the luxury section of the lineup. It has leather upholstery, a 5.0-liter V8 engine, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Massaging front seats are an available option. On the Platinum trim, massaging front seats and heated rear seats are standard. Available upgrades include an 18-speaker premium stereo and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. The Raptor is the F-150’s most capable off-road vehicle with a stronger suspension system and racing-quality shocks. The Limited is the top of the line with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, four-wheel drive and a standard 7.2-kilowatt ProPower Onboard system that can run your power tools.

Engines and performance

The F-150 for 2023 has a big array of engines, including a 3.3-liter V6, a 5.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower, a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and a 3.3-liter diesel V6 with 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. According to Ford, the 400-horsepower hybrid with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 and a 35-kilowatt electric motor can give you up to 700 miles of driving range on a full tank of gas. That allows you to take a long road trip from your home in Dahlonega, GA or Murphy NC and experience zero range anxiety. The four-wheel drive Ford Lariat model with the hybrid powertrain can reach 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

Towing and payload capacity

With the twin-turbo 3.5 liter V6 and its 400-horsepower output, the F-150 can tow a maximum of 14,000 pounds. That's the best towing capacity in the full-size pickup class. Payload ranges from 1,840 pounds up to 3,250 pounds.
